NORTON CSTTM Comfort and Silence Tape offers a unique, patented approach to solving some of the sound and thermal problems in your home, making your living space comfortable.
Your builder can apply NORTON CSTTM foam tape to all the floor joists ahead of time and on the ground, where it is safe and cost effective. The tape applies easily from a roll directly onto the top of the joist, whether it is engineered, dimensional lumber or steel. Our handy HA15 applicating tool provides fast and accurate application and is built rugged for job site conditions.
NORTON CSTTM is not an adhesive. Unlike traditional construction adhesives, it does not have an “open time.” It is a 1/8” thick foam tape gasket that fills the void between the subfloor sheathing and joist, with a low-friction coating on the top. Even as the building settles and shifts over time, NORTON CSTTM will still be there to stop the squeaking.
